Memberships

  • Active Members
  • Trade Members
  • Honorary Members
  • Such other types of membership as may be created by the Board of Directors.
    Corporations, partnerships and individuals shall be eligible for membership. Upon approval of the membership application, each such entity shall appoint one individual to serve as its representative for the purpose of exercising the rights of membership. All individuals and entities complying with the applicable conditions of membership and agreeing to be bound by the Articles of Incorporation of the  Corporation, the By-Laws, and by such rules and regulations as the Board may from time to time adopt, shall be eligible for membership in GOLA.


Active Members


The designation "Active Member" shall apply to individuals and entities which meet the following qualifications.

  • Own or operate a liver business in the Greater Orlando area meeting an applicable licensing and regulatory requirements, in which livery vehicles, owned or operated by the individual or entity, are offered on a prearranged basis to the public for hire and travel over irregular routes. For the purposes of this section an Owner/Operator shall mean an individual or entity who has:
    1. Lawful physical custody of one or more livery vehicles.
    2. All proper licenses for the jurisdiction in which the services are provided. 
    3. Effective control over driver assignments and rate  structures, subject of course to any applicable government regulations.
  • Are recommended for membership by a majority vote of the members of the Membership Committee.
  • Are accepted for membership by a majority vote of the Board of Directors and the Members of GOLA.
  • Have made current payments of the annual dues.

All Active Members shall be entitled to vote at meetings of the membership except as exempt by these bylaws and shall be eligible to serve as directors and officers in accordance with the provisions of Article I, Article II, Article III, Article VI, Article VII and Article VIII . Upon a motion duly made and seconded pertaining specifically to a matter dealing with a specific licensing body which governsthe activities of only part of the membership, only those members licensed by such governing body shall be permitted to vote on such motion.


Trade Members

The designation "Trade Member" shall apply to individual and entities meeting the following qualifications:

  • Own or operate a business in the United States of America which provides products, or services related to or necessary to, an operating liver businesses;
  • Are recommended for membership by a majority of the members composing the Membership Commitee;
  • Are accepted for membership by a majority vote of the Board of Directors and the Members of GOLA;
  • Pay Any fees of or dues established for that particular member by the Membership Committee.

Trade members shall be entitled to attend all open meetings of GOLA, but not have the right to vote or hold an elective office in the association.
